Move or reinstall Restaurly safely

Plan the move before removing the old installation. A Restaurly license is bound to one operating-system installation, and the current product has no self-service license-transfer button.

Applies to: account holder and PC administrator.

Before changing anything

  1. Keep the old PC and its Restaurly data intact.
  2. Open Settings and record the app version, plan, license ID, masked customer, validity dates, and machine-binding status.
  3. If available on the plan, create a validated Export backup ZIP and store a copy on approved separate media.
  4. Confirm automatic backups exist, but do not edit or move their internal files manually.
  5. Contact Restaurly Support with the reason for the move and the target computer or operating-system reinstall plan.
  6. Wait for the approved activation and data-migration steps before wiping the old PC.
Backups are identity-bound

The built-in restore validates the same license identity and machine binding. A manual backup ZIP is not, by itself, a supported transfer mechanism to a different computer or a fresh operating-system identity.

A normal app update is different from a machine move and preserves runtime data outside the packaged application. A clean operating-system reinstall, hardware replacement, lost PC, or damaged license state may require a new activation spot and Support-assisted recovery.

Never copy certificate, private-key, protected-state, or database files into a new installation by hand.

Recovering Free trial is not a PC transfer

If your trial is still valid, you can recover it on the original PC without using another trial opportunity. The expiry stays the same. Keep the operating system installation unchanged; if you need a new computer or a fresh system, ask Support before moving data. Reinstalling does not give you seven new days.
