Complete first-time restaurant setup
Initialize the licensed Restaurly PC with the minimum information your team needs to sign in and start building the menu.
Applies to: Restaurly PC and restaurant administrator.
Before you begin
- Activate the Restaurly PC, restart it when prompted, and keep the desktop app open.
- Have the company name, table count, and first staff details ready.
- Choose a strong administrator master password and store it safely.
Complete setup on the PC
- After activation and restart, wait for the Restaurly PC Dashboard to open.
- If this restaurant has not been initialized, the Set up Restaurly form appears automatically.
- Enter the new administrator password in Administrator password and Administrator password again.
- Enter the Restaurant / company name.
- Enter the number of Tables to create. Stay within the available table capacity shown below the field.
- To create an initial account, select Add staff member, then enter the staff member's name and numeric PIN. Choose Waiter for guest-service staff or POS / Back of House for a preparation station. Repeat for any other initial accounts. You can also add staff later in the Dashboard.
- Check all entries, then select Complete setup.
License capacity
The desktop setup form shows the remaining table and combined staff capacity for plans with finite limits. Waiters and POS stations share the staff allowance.
What should happen
The setup form closes and the PC Dashboard becomes available. Waiters and POS stations can now choose their role in the mobile app and sign in with the ID and PIN assigned to their account. The mobile app has no Administrator role. Continue in the Dashboard to add categories, VAT groups, menu items, images, and other settings.
If it does not work
- Keep the PC app open and review the message shown on the setup form.
- If a capacity message appears, reduce the requested tables/staff or review the plan before retrying.
- Confirm that both password entries match, the company name is present, the table count is a non-negative whole number, and every initial staff member has a name, role, and positive numeric PIN.
- If Complete setup repeatedly fails, do not delete the PC database. Record the message and use First-time setup does not finish.
