Take your first order

Create a training order from the waiter app and confirm that it reaches the restaurant workflow.

Applies to: mobile app and waiter role.

Before you begin

  • Sign in as Waiter with a waiter ID and PIN.
  • Ask an administrator to confirm that this waiter has a table, and that active menu categories and available items exist.
  • For the first try, use a training table/order and tell the preparation team.

Create the order

  1. Select the center `+` button in the bottom navigation.
  2. On New order, choose the table.
  3. Select Add and manage items.
  4. Select Add item.
  5. On Select item, browse a category or use Search.., then choose the menu item.
  6. If the item requires linked choices, select each required option.
  7. Select Add item. Repeat these steps for more items.
  8. In Manage items, check quantities, linked choices, and the total. Use the delete icon to remove an incorrect line.
  9. Go back to New order.
  10. Add an Order note only when the kitchen or bar needs it.
  11. Check the table and items, then select Create order.

What should happen

Restaurly shows Order successfully created! The order appears in the waiter's order list. Each POS station sees only the items matched by its category setup, and an enabled matching kitchen printer receives its own ticket.

Printing

A kitchen ticket or customer summary produced by Restaurly is non-fiscal. The separate compliant cash register issues the official receipt.

If it does not work

  • A grey Create order button means the order is not ready. Choose a table and add at least one available item.
  • If no table appears, ask the administrator to check the waiter's table assignment.
  • If no item appears, ask the administrator to check menu availability, categories, prices, and VAT setup.
  • If Restaurly says the order cannot be created, keep the app open, refresh, and try once more. Do not create repeated copies without checking the order list.

Next steps

  • Open Orders to follow the order.
  • Open Tables to see active and payable work.
  • Visit Features for the complete daily-work guide.
