Configure VAT groups and price entry

Restaurly keeps one gross unit price for every menu item and uses VAT groups to calculate the payment breakdown.

Applies to: PC and administrator.

Set up VAT and input style

  1. Open VAT Groups and create the required numeric rates.
  2. Keep groups active while categories use them.
  3. Assign one active VAT group to every sellable category.
  4. In Settings → Pricing, choose Gross prices or Net prices (Restaurly converts each unit to gross).
  5. Save, then check a training item's preview and final gross price.

The input preference affects only future Dashboard entry. It never reinterprets existing stored values. Changing a VAT rate, category assignment, or currency also does not reprice existing numbers.

HUF

HUF unit prices must be whole forints. Restaurly rejects a currency change when fractional item prices remain; edit the named items instead of relying on automatic rounding.

Zero percent is currently only a numeric rate. Do not treat it as a complete legal distinction between exempt and other non-taxable treatments.
