Manage menu items and images
Build the menu your waiters use when creating an order.
Applies to: PC and administrator.
Add or edit an item
- Open Items and choose to add or edit an item.
- Enter its name and optional description.
- Choose its category and enter the unit price using the current Item price entry basis.
- Set the item's manual availability.
- With Enterprise, select any Additional menus the item should belong to.
- Add an item image when useful.
- Save, then confirm the enabled item appears on a waiter device in the active menu.
Restaurly stores and exposes the gross unit price. If Dashboard input is set to net, the PC previews and converts each unit to gross before saving.
Changing an item's price can affect unpaid open orders because checkout resolves the current price and VAT. Completed payments keep their original immutable snapshot.
Unavailable items cannot be added to a new order. Use appropriate, non-sensitive product photos.
Manage multiple menus with Enterprise
Keep everyday service and private-event menus ready without creating duplicate items. Menu management is part of Items in the Dashboard.
- Open Items, then Manage menus.
- Enter a Menu name and choose Create menu.
- Add products through each item's Additional menus checkboxes. One item can belong to several menus.
- To assign several products together, select their rows, choose Menu for selected items, then Add to menu or Remove from menu. Use Filter by menu and the membership badges to check your selection.
- Include the products used as linked-category choices. Check the warning if a menu has linked categories with no enabled choices.
- Between orders, select the menu under Active menu. Exactly one menu is active at a time; selecting another replaces it. An empty custom menu cannot be activated.
- Ask waiters to reopen the item picker. They see only manually enabled products in the active menu. Orders already accepted remain available for preparation and payment.
- After the event, select All items or another prepared menu. To delete a custom menu, first select a different active menu; deleting the menu keeps its products.
Every item automatically belongs to All items. You cannot rename or delete this menu or remove an item from it, so it is hidden from assignment controls. You can always select it as active, even when it has no products.
Prices, categories, descriptions, images and the manual availability switch stay the same across menus. Disabling a product makes it unavailable in every menu.
Free trial and Standard always use All items and do not show menu-management controls. Custom menus and the previous active selection are retained through plan changes; returning to Enterprise restores that selection.
