Export and restore a manual backup
Standard and Enterprise administrators can export a validated backup ZIP and restore it on the same licensed machine.
Applies to: PC and administrator.
Export a backup
- Open Settings → Manual backup and restore.
- Select Export backup ZIP.
- Save the file to approved, separate storage.
- Keep the file private; it contains restaurant operational data.
Restaurly first creates a fresh validated snapshot, then packages its database, images, and integrity metadata.
Restore a backup
- Select Restore backup ZIP and choose the export.
- Review the validation result and confirmation carefully.
- Let Restaurly create its safety snapshot and complete the restore.
- Restart when requested, then verify key tables, items, staff, and payments.
The ZIP must belong to the same license identity and machine. Validation fails closed if the archive, integrity metadata, or ownership does not match.

Never test a restore against the only copy of live data. Preserve the original export and contact support if validation reports any ambiguity.
